Hi, I'm Angelique, a graphic and surface pattern designer and the creative mind behind Orange and Lime Textiles.
My love of sewing, fabrics, patterns, colour and texture has been woven through my life for as long as I can remember. Although my career has taken me through many areas of graphic design, I've always been particularly drawn to creating beautiful patterns for fabric, wallpaper and other surfaces. Eventually, that love inspired me to create my own fabric line and share my designs with you through my online store.
I truly believe that creative people are often drawn together — and that creativity has a wonderful way of finding different avenues for expression.
From a very young age, I was encouraged to explore my creative side, attending art and pottery classes and filling my school subject selections with every creative class I could. From ceramics to drama, I wanted to try it all! Later, while working in the Australian music industry, I was lucky enough to combine my love of design with the industry, creating everything from showcase invitations and promotional pieces to a variety of other creative projects.
Today, I live with my two amazing sons in the beautiful Blue Mountains, on Dharug and Gundungurra Country, surrounded by an area dotted with gorgeous little waterfalls and incredible natural beauty. One of my boys has inherited that creative spark too, which makes me incredibly proud.
Through my designs, I have the freedom to explore ideas, moods, memories and moments in time. I'm particularly inspired by the world around me, and whenever I'm lucky enough to travel and explore somewhere new, my sketchbook, watercolours and laptop come along for the adventure.
I love capturing little snippets of the places I visit — a colour combination, an interesting shape, a beautiful flower, an old building or simply a feeling — and turning those memories into patterns.
Every design has a story. Each one has a date and place where it was created, so when you choose a fabric, you can discover a little piece of the journey and inspiration behind it.
All of my designs are exclusive to this website, and I'm so excited to finally share them with you.
